“That was when the obsession, which had been fermenting somewhere inside, reached its full form. I finally comprehended the allure of the moment of connection that precedes and makes the shot – that split-second when a scene unexpectedly draws your gaze and you manage to capture it as only a photograph can. The act of pressing the shutter, as crucial as it is, becomes result rather than cause – because you must let such moments come to you.

And that is why, after 25 years of seeking out such moments, I made this book – a collection of photographs sharing an emotive sense of connection to other people and places”.
