The Leica S3 represents the synthesis of unmatched image quality and the unique visual aesthetic of medium format photography, with the speed and simplicity of a 35mm camera. It unites the best of both worlds, thus defining a class of its own. All the system’s components are perfectly balanced for the purpose of achieving this goal. The system is supported by a wide range of lenses of unrivaled quality, now matched with a large 64-megapixel sensor developed exclusively for Leica in the unique Leica ProFormat. It ensures groundbreaking performance in terms of resolution and dynamic range, so photographers can achieve the highest image quality in all situations.
Its precision-engineered, ultra-high-speed shutter mechanisms, special image processor and predictive auto-focus enable fast burst shooting, combining the unique image quality of the larger format with the quick responsiveness of a 35mm camera. The Leica S3 goes beyond the realm of photography, making it a dual-purpose still and cinema camera. The quality of the S lenses and the S3 sensor also reveal their truly special, visual signature in video recording, where the camera can record the full width of the medium format sensor in all the visual beauty and fidelity of 4K.
